A Big Bust. Hamilton Police Seize Guns, Drugs, Cash, Make Two Arrests
HAMILTON, NJ - A month-and-a-half long investigation into drug trafficking in Hamilton Township led to two arrests on Wednesday, as well as the seizure of two handguns; ammunition; suspected heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine, and $10,151 in cash. According to the Hamilton Police Division, the arrests of April Angelo, 34, of Hamilton and Jose Colon-Matos, 32, of Trenton came as a result of the investigation and search of a residence in Winding Brook Apartments on Bradford Avenue. "It's been awful actually" Gardeners impacted by wet, chilly weather in Burlington County
CINNAMINSON, N.J. (CBS) -- The frequent bad weather the Philadelphia region has been experiencing, particularly on weekends, is having an impact on gardeners.With Friday evening marking the 20th weekend of the year, CBS News Philadelphia's meteorologists said it'll be the 16th with rain.Beth Perkins of Haines Farm & Garden in Cinnaminson said the weather has been challenging this year."It's been awful actually. People just can't get started," Perkins said. "With the cloud cover and there's a lot of moisture in the air, things are just not performing as they should."Bernadette Mellon, a customer at the garden center, is eager to start planting."It's probably delayed our gardening for about three weeks now," Mellon said. "I have more to do, and I hope the weather holds up, so I can get this done by tomorrow hopefully."Perkins said people can start planting now, but they'll just have to deal with wet soil, which, on the bright side, can make digging easier."You can still plant," Perkins said. "Just keep an eye on your plants for disease and insects because that seems to be hitting things earlier than normal."

Murphy signs 1-year law lifting 2% cap for school levies in some districts. Is it enough?
A 2018 law that hit some school districts with unexpected funding cuts has put Gov. Phil Murphy and Trenton Democrats in a bind for the past several years. The result is a new law, signed by Murphy this week, that permits those 147 districts to lift, for a one-year period, New Jersey’s 2% property tax cap for school tax levies. It also sets aside $44.7 million in additional “stabilization” aid grants for these districts. Murphy signed another law permitting some school districts facing cuts in state aid to submit budgets within five days of the fiscal year 2025 appropriations act − giving them a grace period to finalize budgets.

A Cash4Life lottery ticket worth $1,000 a week for life was sold for Thursday’s drawing at a convenience store in Union Couuty. The second-prize ticket was bought at QuickStop Convenience on West 7th Street in Plainfield, the New Jersey Lottery said. It matched five numbers but not the Cash Ball.
