WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, PA — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a woman accused of stealing more than $2,300 in merchandise from a beauty store. The theft occurred at 11:22 a.m. Nov. 1, 2026, at the Ulta store in Arena Hub Plaza, according to the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department.
A Schuylkill Haven man faces burglary and assault charges after Pennsylvania State Police say he forced his way into a Landingville home, assaulted a woman and left in her vehicle. Jessie A. Wolfe, 43, was charged on October 30, 2026 , by Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven following an incident at an apartment on Park Street. Police Describe Alleged Forced Entry and Assault According to an affidavit of probable, the woman told police she had asked Wolfe, whom she identified as her boyfriend, to leave her home because he was no longer welcome there. Police say Wolfe initially left but later returned and knocked on the front door while attempting to gain entry. According to the affidavit, he tore a screen from a window before forcing his way through the front door. Once inside, Wolfe allegedly attempted to grab the woman by the throat. Police say she sustained a cut to her lower lip during the assault. The woman told investigators Wolfe stopped the assault when she began crying, then took both sets of her car keys and her cellphone before leaving in her red Toyota Corolla. Bloomsburg, Pa. — The Pa. Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has allocated $2 million in grant funding to the Luzerne Conservation District to assist with an ongoing project at Long Hollow Cattle Company in Columbia County. The grant funds will be used to implement two roofed heavy-use areas — 32 feet by 72 feet and 70 feet by 284 feet — fencing, roof runoff controls, access roads, animal walkways, watering facilities, underground outlets, and stormwater controls. “Securing critical funding for the 109th District requires relentless effort, strong advocacy and a commitment to delivering results,” said State Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia). “Agriculture is the backbone of many of our communities and a vital part of Pennsylvania’s economy and heritage. POTTSVILLE — Schuylkill County native Rachel Wallace conceded the race for Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District to Republican U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser on Tuesday night, thanking supporters and pledging to continue advocating for the region. Wallace, the Democratic nominee who grew up in Pottsville and now lives in southern Schuylkill County, said she called Meuser to congratulate him following the November 3, 2026 , election. “While this isn't the outcome we had hoped for, I respect that outcome,” Wallace said. “I've called Congressman Meuser to congratulate him and wish him well as he continues representing our district.” The reported district-wide results showed Meuser receiving 163,850 votes, or 62.12% , compared with Wallace’s 99,924 votes, or 37.88% .
