Sedalia Police Reports for February 29th, 2024
This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 100 block of South Quincy Avenue in reference to a cardiac arrest. Officers and the Pettis County Ambulance District arrived on scene and began life saving measures. The subject was pronounced deceased on scene shortly after. The next of kin were notified.

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO - Fire crews were dispatched to an overnight structure fire in rural Johnson County. The County Fire Protection District says two residents evacuated without injuries, but several pets in the residence reportedly died. Flames were visible on half the structure as firefighters arrived on scene around 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of NW 50 Highway.

Two men were injured in a two-vehicle collision that occurred Monday afternoon in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2015 Toyota Sienna, driven by 47-year-old Zeshan Siddiqua of St. Joseph, was driving southbound in the northbound lane of Highway 23, north of NE 500 Road (north of Knob Noster) around 2:30 p.m. and struck a northbound 2010 Ford Escape, driven by 40-year-old Benjamin Richards of Concordia, head-on.

Houstonia Couple Injured When Harley Runs Off the Road
A Houstonia couple were injured when their Harley overturned Sunday afternoon in Gasconade County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2013 Harley Davidson, driven by 41-year-old Donnie L. Hood of Houstonia, was on Missouri 100 at Route J (southwest of Hermann) around 2:30 p.m., when the motorcycle traveled through a curve and ran off the left side of the roadway. The Harley went down an embankment and both occupants were ejected.

On the night of February 23rd, Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office conducted a vehicle stop on a black Dodge Challenger. The stop took place near US 50 Highway and South Lamine Avenue. The stop was conducted because the Dodge did not have a license plate light. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Jodie Raye Cornine, 27, of Hughesville. Cornine had an active felony Probation Violation warrant for her arrest. The original incident occurred in April of 2021, and Cornine was convicted of felony Burglary in the 1st Degree and felony Assault in the 3rd Degree. Cornine was then placed on five years’ probation in March of 2022, and violated the probation since May of 2023. Cornine was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on her warrant, which carried a bond amount of $15,000 cash only. The driver was released from the scene with a warning for defective equipment.

MSHP Arrest Reports for February 25, 2024
The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 26-year-old Blaine A. Winkler of Windsor at 11:49 p.m.Saturday in Pettis County. He now faces charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. Winkler was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
