A Saline County man suffers serious injuries when he wrecks his pickup truck early Wednesday morning in northwest Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports George Mobley, 51, of Slater, was driving around 4 a.m. on Highway 41 about four miles north of Miami when he lost control in a curve, traveled off the road, and struck an embankment.

Last Friday night, Pettis County Deputies were on patrol in the area of Highway Y and Hickory Lane in Pettis County. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a blue colored Chevrolet passenger vehicle because it was exceeding the speed limit. Deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Arely Matacua, 26, of Sedalia, was identified. Matacua's information was passed through Dispatch, and it was advised she did not have a current operator's license. Matacua was arrested and released on scene with a citation for Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without A Valid License. Matacua was given a court date in April and released to a family member.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two juveniles from Carrollton, Missouri have been killed, police say, after a shooting in a city park on Wednesday night. Saline County woman fined for driving under the influence of methamphetamine
A Saline County woman caught driving under the influence of methamphetamine in Howard County pleads guilty. Melissa Patton, of Nelson, pleaded down Tuesday to Misdemeanor DWI and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was fined a total of $850 and ordered to pay court costs. In exchange for her plea, a charge of possession of a controlled substance was dismissed.
ESU Sizzles in Sweep of Central
The Emporia State basketball teams picked up a sweep of Central Missouri at White Auditorium on Wednesday night. The Lady Hornets led for all but 93 seconds of the game in a 76-63 victory over the Jennies. ESU led 17-13 after one and outscored UCM 23-15 in the 2nd to take a 40-28 lead at the half. Central made a run in the fourth to cut the deficit to single digits but ESU hit 12 of 14 free throws in the period to come up with the win. Head coach Brian Ostermann said the game was huge for both teams.
