Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for May 31, 2023
This article is compiled from reports issued by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office. Early Sunday morning, the Pettis County K9 Unit observed two subjects in the area of West 20th Street and South Grand Avenue riding small minibikes. Deputies made contact with the subjects at the Katy Park. Deputies checked both subject’s information with the Pettis County Joint Communications. One of the subjects, Calvin William Wilson, 22, of Sedalia, was found to have an active Saline County warrant for his arrest. Wilson was placed under arrest for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding (11-15 MPH). Wilson was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash only bond of $250.00.
KNOB NOSTER MAN KILLED IN VEHICLE CRASH
A Knob Noster man was killed in a vehicle crash in Johnson County on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Lee Thomas traveled off the left side of the roadway striking two fences and a tree. Debris from the crash also did minor damage to a parked vehicle.

A Sedalia woman was charged with two felonies in Pettis County on Thursday, May 25, 2023. According to a probable cause statement, a Sedalia Police Officer was dispatched to a disturbance at a residence involving an alleged assault on a female. The female, identified as Angela Jackson stated to police that her step father had attempted to assault her and that she had gotten a hammer to fight him off. Jackson was later found to be intoxicated. The officer noticed the step father used a walker and told the officer Jackson had threatened kill him.

Benton County man one of two charged in federal indictment for conspiracy to kill U.S. border patrol agents
Two men, including one from mid-Missouri, are indicted by a federal grand jury for a conspiracy to murder border patrol officers and the attempted murder of FBI agents. Jonathan O’Dell, 33, of Warsaw, and Bryan Perry, 37, of Clarksville, Tennessee, were charged in a 44-count second superseding indictment this week. The indictment alleges the pair attempted to recruit members to their militia group to travel to the U.S.-Mexico border to shoot and kill illegal immigrants. In a social media post, Perry also stated they’d kill any U.S. Border Patrol members who tried to stop them.

Boonville man arrested after brief standoff with deputies
A Cooper County man wanted for four outstanding warrants is arrested after trying to avoid deputies. It was Tuesday when a Cooper County deputy noticed Christopher Stallings, of Boonville, driving and attempted to conduct a traffic stop for the warrants. But Stallings refused to stop and sped off at a high rate of speed toward his residence. Once he arrived at the scene, he took off on foot into this home.
