“Come to Northern Star Theatre Company and see Rice Lake High School’s newest play, Ken Ludwig’s ‘Midsummer/Jersey,’” invites high school drama student Djanko Shuler-Masci. He describes the play as “A delightfully witty blend of Shakespeare and Jersey Shore.” In the play, four teenagers’ love lives get even more twisted when the mischievous fairies arrive, all the while a beauty shop rehearses an amateur production of “Romeo and Juliet.” “Join us on Feb. 29-March 2 at 7 p.m., and March 2-3 at 2 p.m. for a night full of love, iPhones, donkeys and rhyme,” Shuler-Masci said. RICE LAKE, Wis. (WEAU) - For people looking to help dogs in need, a small Rice Lake-based dog rescue is inviting you to an annual event with an auction, music, and more. For the second year, Little Red Barn Dog Rescue will host the Who Rescued Who Charity Dinner Event starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 at Turtleback Golf Course. People can enjoy dinner, live music by Bare Bones Weston Schissel, and an auction with Green Bay Packers memorabilia and a guitar signed by Taylor Swift. The Founder of Little Red Barn Dog Rescue, Maureen Mlejnek, said proceeds from the event go towards helping support operations at the nonprofit.
