Horizon High School has teamed up with the UPSWING Foundation to launch the 'Horizon Leadership Academy'. It is one of 10 schools in the state to do so. The academy, supported by Janssen Sports, is designed to enhance leadership skills in student athletes. Winter sports have now started for Horizon High School students. The winter sports involve Girls and Boys Basketball, Boys and Girls Wrestling, and Girls Swim and Dive. Students have been preparing for their sports heavily and are prepared to hit the court, mat, or water for the season. Boys that were participating in basketball have had open gyms for a majority of the school year so far to prepare for the season. The team was released in November and their first game was held on November 29th. Boys Wrestling matches will begin at the end of November and will follow through February. Girls Swim and Dive began on November 13th.
