Teen found dead on highway wearing only shoes suffered blunt force trauma – but death remains a mystery

An Oklahoma teenager found on the side of a road while only wearing a pair of shoes last September died of blunt force trauma, officials revealed this week — though his loved ones are still searching for answers.

The body of Noah Presgrove, 19, was discovered off Highway 81 on Sept. 4, 2023, and his death was quickly deemed suspicious, according to reports.

The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office revealed Presgrove died of multiple blunt force trauma, but the manner of death was listed as unknown, KSWO reported Tuesday.

The young man had just graduated from Comanche High School that previous spring and reportedly wanted to enlist in the military.

“The decedent was found naked wearing only a pair of shoes on the side of a highway on the morning of September 4, 2023,” the medical examiner report stated, according to Fox News Digital.

“There were no vehicle parts or debris observed on the scene. At this time, what transpired on how the body was found on the road having multiple blunt force injuries is unknown. Therefore, the manner of death is deemed undetermined.”

The report notes Presgrove was at a house party and drinking before he rode on an ATV with buddies that rolled over.

But he made it back to the house, where he argued with his girlfriend and subsequently left on Sept. 3, 2023, before he was found the next day, according to the report.

The release of further information about the case only left Presgrove’s relatives, including his sister Madison Rawlings, with more questions.

“I’m not sure who the girl he is ‘supposedly’ arguing with,” Rawlings told Fox News Digital. “That is a question I reached out about with the medical examiner.”

Presgrove’s brother, Dailen Presgrove, told NewsNation his sibling was found in the fetal position and his body was covered up.

“You can see blood seeping through the covering … As I’m looking at it, it just seems weird. The placement of the body. The tooth, the shorts. It doesn’t look like a hit-and-run,” Dailen Presgrove told the outlet.

The family said they are seeking closure.

“Even if it was an accident, it doesn’t matter, come clean,” a cousin, Avery Poucher, told KSWO in November.

“It hurts not to know. It’ll hurt knowing, but it hurts more not to know and wondering, and just thinking every night what happened.”

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesperson told Fox News Digital the investigation is ongoing.

Presgrove was described as a “true friend to all who knew him” and a multi-sport athlete in high school, including football and wrestling, according to his obituary.

“Noah had a very outgoing personality; he was very spontaneous, and he was both a country boy, and a ladies man!” the obit states.
