    Columbia area spring sports Week 9 top performers: Casen Springer hits two home runs in Loretto win

    It's Week 9 of the high school spring season. Here are the top performers for high school baseball, softball and soccer in the Columbia area.

    WEDNESDAY

    Baseball

    Matthew Thomas, Columbia Central: Thomas went 2-for-3 with a double, run, RBI and stolen base in an 11-3 win over Coffee County.

    Burton Moore, Columbia Central: Moore pitched 6.2 innings, striking out 12 batters while allowing five hits and three earned runs.

    Konner Bowden, Columbia Central: Bowden went 1-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base.

    George Wu, Independence: Wu pitched four innings, striking out five while allowing one hit and no runs in a 9-2 loss.

    Alex Bedford, Lawrence County: Bedford was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, a run and a stolen base in a 7-4 win.

    Isaiah Bentley, Lawrence County: Bentley went 1-for-4 with a triple, run and RBI.

    Maddox Rickvalsky, Summit: Rickvalsky was 2-for-4 with a home run in a 3-2 win over Centennial.

    Davin Roush, Summit: Roush pitched eight innings, striking out eight batters while allowing four hits and two earned runs.

    Landon Rowe, Summit: Rowe went 1-for-3 with a double.

    Softball

    Phynlee Keeling, Culleoka: Keeling was 1-for-3 with a two-RBI home run in a 10-3 loss to Mt. Pleasant.

    Jayla Miller, Independence: Miller was 3-for-3 with three runs, two stolen bases and an RBI in a 18-2 win over Brentwood.

    Emma Tomlin, Independence: Tomlin was 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and three runs.

    Piper Johnson, Independence: Johnson went 2-for-2 with a run, two RBIs and a stolen base.

    Brylie Waechter, Independence: Waechter pitched a two inning no-hitter, striking out three batters.

    Bryleigh Evans, Mt. Pleasant: Evans went 1-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and a run in a 10-3 win over Culleoka.

    Dallas Woodard, Mt. Pleasant: Woodard was 1-for-4 with a double and a run.

    Sophie Rettinger, Mt. Pleasant: Rettinger was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

    TUESDAY

    Baseball

    Jacob Woodward, Columbia Academy: Woodward was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI in a 10-7 win.

    CJ Durrough, Columbia Academy: Durrough went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

    Cameron Marrisett, Hampshire: Marrisett was 2-for-3 with a double, run, stolen base and RBI in an 8-2 loss to Santa Fe.

    Eli Stephens, Hampshire: Stephens pitched four innings, striking out eight batters while allowing one hit and one earned run. He was also 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and stolen base.

    Casen Springer, Loretto: Springer was 4-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs and two additional runs in an 11-0 win over Lawrence County.

    Clint Seymore, Loretto: Seymore was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs.

    Miles Moore, Loretto: Moore was 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.

    Tucker Mayo, Richland: Mayo was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBIs, a stolen base and an additional run in a 14-7 win.

    Colton Trimble, Richland: Trimble went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double, three RBIs, two runs and a stolen base.

    Jameson Andrews, Richland: Andrews was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs, two runs and a stolen base.

    Macon Adkison, Santa Fe: Adkison was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, two stolen bases and an RBI in an 8-2 win over Hampshire. He also pitched six innings, striking out seven while allowing six hits and two earned runs.

    Carson Adkison, Santa Fe: Adkison went 2-for-3 with four runs, two RBIs and two stolen bases.

    Grayson Burleson, Summertown: Burleson was 2-for-2 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI in a 14-1 win over Giles County.

    Aiden Perez, Summertown: Perez was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run.

    Kane Konig, Summertown: Konig went 1-for-3 with a double, run and RBI. He also struck out four batters in five innings pitched, allowing one hit and no earned runs.

    Softball

    Jayla Miller, Independence: Miller was 2-for-2 with a triple, two runs, three RBIs and a stolen base in an 11-1 win over Franklin.

    Reagan Maxon, Independence: Maxon was 2-for-2 with a double, RBI, three runs and three stolen bases.

    Piper Johnson, Independence: Johnson went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and a stolen base.

    Bailey Blair, Richland: Blair was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs in a 5-1 win over Lincoln County.

    Ava Shrader, Richland: Shrader was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. She also pitched a complete game, striking out three while allowing six hits and one earned run.

    Marleigh McWilliams, Zion Christian: McWilliams went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and two additional runs in a 14-10 win.

    Claire Boyd, Zion Christian: Boyd was 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs, five RBIs and a stolen base.

    Addison White, Zion Christian: White was 3-for-5 with a double, run and two RBIs.

    MONDAY

    Baseball

    Jack Beck, Columbia Central: Beck was 2-for-3 with a walk-off double, two runs, a stolen base and RBI in a 7-6 win over Page.

    Konner Bowden, Columbia Central: Bowden went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.

    KwanDarren Sims, Columbia Central: Sims was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs.

    Logan Money, Independence: Money went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs in a 7-5 win.

    Mark Harrell, Independence: Harrell was 1-for-2 with a double, run and RBI.

    Hayden Holt, Mt. Pleasant: Holt was 1-for-3 with a home run in a 10-1 loss.

    Gary Cox, Spring Hill: Cox was 1-for-1 with a two-RBI home run in a 10-1 win over Mt. Pleasant.

    Hayden Haney, Spring Hill: Haney went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, a run and a stolen base.

    Clay Robinson, Spring Hill: Robinson was 1-for-2 with a double, two runs and a stolen base.

    Landon Reilly, Zion Christian: Reilly went 3-for-3 with a double, two stolen bases, a run and RBI in a 15-10 loss.

    Softball

    Saviya Morgan, Columbia Central: Morgan was 3-for-5 with a double, run, stolen base and three RBIs in a 6-4 win.

    Kaitlyn Bushey, Columbia Central: Bushey was 3-for-4 with a double, run and two RBIs.

    Bailey Lovell, Columbia Central: Lovell went 3-for-4 with a double.

    Katelyn Bass, Richland: Bass was 2-for-4 with a double, run and three RBIs in a 5-2 win.

    Mary Katherine Butler, Richland: Butler went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and a stolen base.

    Ava Shrader, Richland: Shrader was 3-for-4 with a double.

    Ashlyn Easley, Summit: Easley went 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs, three stolen bases and an RBI in a 12-9 win over Centennial.

    Anne Marie Richards, Summit: Richards was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs.

    Saniya Hunter, Summit: Hunter was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

    Audrey Cathey, Summit: Cathey went 1-for-4 with a two-RBI home run.

    Marleigh McWilliams, Zion Christian: McWilliams pitched a complete game, striking out 15 batters while allowing four hits and one earned run in a 9-1 win. She was also 3-for-4 with a triple and a run.

    Elizabeth Wood, Zion Christian: Wood was 1-for-3 with a three-RBI home run.

    Leighla Rains, Zion Christian: Rains was 2-for-4 with a triple, RBI and two runs.
