COFFEYVILLE, KS — Multiple law enforcement agencies collaborated to thwart a shooting near Coffeyville, Kansas.

In a press release, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MGSO) said Shawn Timmerman, a Caney man, was arrested after a reported shooting and vehicle chase.

MGSO said they received a call Saturday evening reporting the incident on US 166 and County Road 3500. Christopher Flack, a Skiatook man, told deputies he was being chased by a black Challenger from Caney that was shooting at his vehicle. Flack was not hurt.

With help from the Caney Police Department, the suspect's vehicle was located at Timmerman's house. Timmerman was arrested and booked into the the Montgomery County Department of Corrections on attempted murder in the second degree.

"I extend my appreciation to dispatch, deputies, and the Caney Police Department for their swift and professional response," Sheriff Ron Wade stated. "Through our joint efforts, we successfully arrested the suspect, ensuring the safety of our community."

MGSO said any possible charges would be up to the County Attorney.
