    Bullpen Dooms Tigers in Loss to Louisville

    Clemson fell to Louisville 7-6 Saturday afternoon as the Card evened the series.  After leading 5-2 the bulllpen gave up three in the seventh and two in the eighth.

    In the top of the first the Tigers took the lead.  Jacob Hinderleider doubled down the right field line with one out.  With two outs Obertop singled and Hinderleider scored on a throwing error.

    In the bottom of the third Louisville plated one run to tie the game.

    Clemson quickly regained the lead in the fourth.  Cam Cannarella hit a leadoff single to center.  Jarren Purify reached on a fielder’s choice.  Bissetta then reached on a fielder’s choice.  Jay Crighton doubled down to left center scoring Bissetta.  Jacob Jarrell hit a two-run home run to put the Tigers up 4-1.

    Jarren Purify added an insurance run in the sixth when he hit a solo home run to put the Tigers up 5-2.

    Louisville score three in the seventh and added two in the eighth to take a 7-5 lead.

    Jarrell hit a two-out solo home run in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough as the Tigers fell 7-6.

    With the loss Clemson moved to 14-6 in the ACC and 33-9 overall.  The Tigers go for the sweep Sunday afternoon at 4 PM.
