Bemidji Chamber Names Scott Turn as New Executive Director
A new chapter is on deck for the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce as it has now named its new Executive Director. Earlier today, the Chamber’s Board of Directors announced that Scott Turn has been officially hired in that role. Turn will oversee the Chamber’s day-to-day operations and work with staff on programs, services, objectives, and initiatives for its members.
Nortech Closing Facility in Blue Earth, Moving Work There to Bemidji
Nortech Systems, Inc. announced today that it will be closing its Blue Earth facility and will be consolidating the work done there to their facility in Bemidji. Nortech officials say the move to consolidate production of their wire and cable products for the aerospace and defense industries to Bemidji should be completed by the end of the year.

Bemidji Baseball Defeats Sartell at Home for 3rd Straight Win
In high school baseball, Bemidji was at home on Friday facing Section 8AAAA opponent Sartell. The Lumberjacks were trying to win their third straight contest. In the bottom of the 5th, it was tied 2-2 when Peyton Neaudeu sliced it to right field, giving Bemidji an RBI single and the lead for good. They went on to win 5-3 over Sartell, bringing the Lumberjacks’ record to 7-9.
Grand Rapids Softball Defeats Bemidji 5-0 on the Road
Bemidji was hosting Grand Rapids in softball today, where both teams were coming off losses and were trying to get back into the win column. Grand Rapids would go on to beat Bemidji 5-0. The Thunderhawks need a win at Chisago Lakes tomorrow to finish .500 on the year, while the Lumberjacks will round out their regular season tomorrow at home against Cloquet.
