Moscow Home Damaged By Fire
A Moscow home was damaged by fire early Sunday morning. City of Moscow Volunteer Firefighters were called to the blaze on Bitterroot Street around 2:30. Volunteers found heavy fire and flames extending through the front roof area when they arrived on scene. Six people who were inside the home were evacuated safely. No one was hurt. The home sustained significant fire damage where the blaze started and heavy smoke damage throughout the structure.

LEWISTON, ID - The National College Testing Association has recertified Lewis-Clark State College's Testing Center through 2028, college officials have announced. To earn recertification, which is good for five years, LC State has to show it met the criteria necessary that was developed to guide post-secondary testing centers in the delivery of quality testing programs. 23-Year-Old Man Pleads Guilty to Raping a Girl Several Times in Juliaetta
JULIAETTA, ID - A 23-year-old man accused of raping a girl several times in Juliaetta has pleaded guilty. Jason Umphenour pleaded guilty to a rape count on Wednesday in Latah County Second District Court. Umphenour raped the girl multiple times starting in 2020 when she was 14 years old. He admitted to raping the girl when he was interviewed by Idaho State Police investigators. ISP began investigating the case in December of 2021. Umphenour is scheduled to be sentenced in June.
Washington expected to have a limited spring chinook season
Mar. 17—Washington is expected to open limited fishing seasons for hatchery spring chinook on two stretches of the Snake River but not at Clarkston. Chris Donley, fish program managers for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife at Spokane, said the season will be similar to those offered last year, with fishing allowed near Little Goose Dam on Tuesdays and Fridays and near Ice Harbor Dam on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
