CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Pierpont Student Vet Tech Association raised money on Saturday while also making some new furry friends.

During the event, people were welcome to bring their cats and dogs to the veterinary technology school and have them washed for a fee depending on the weight of the pet. You could also add on a nail trim for an additional $10. All funds raised will go towards support for the association.

President of Pierpont’s Student Vet Tech Association Sophie Lewis expressed the importance of vet techs when it comes to the health of pets. “We are essentially the nurses of the veterinary world,” Lewis said. “So we do everything.”

Pierpont’s Veterinary Technology program is a two-year program. Those interested can find more information about the program on the Pierpont website .
