2 taken to the hospital after wreck causes delays on U.S. 50 in Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Two people had to be taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a wreck on U.S. Route 50 that temporarily shut down a lane of traffic and caused delays.

According to an official with the Harrison County 911 Center, at around 4:04 p.m., crews were alerted to a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 50. Two people were taken to the hospital as a result of the wreck and their conditions are unknown at this time.

Severe weather knocks out power for thousands across north central West Virginia

West Virginia 511 data reported that the wreck happened near the Joyce Street exit and that the left lane of westbound traffic was temporarily closed. The 911 official confirmed that the road has fully reopened as of 4:42 p.m.

Crews from the Clarksburg Fire Department, Harrison County EMS and the Clarksburg Police Department responded to this call.
