Rainy weather and thunderstorms could coincide with Taste of Cincinnati this weekend.

The annual festival, which spotlights the city's vibrant culinary scene, returns to downtown Cincinnati for Memorial Day weekend. The festival is slated to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday and end 8 p.m. Monday. However, according to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, multiple rounds of thunderstorms are forecast to move into the region Friday night through Monday.

Are you worried about rain this weekend? Here's what to know.

What to do if it rains during Taste of Cincinnati

Taste of Cincinnati organizers will monitor weather forecasts in the hours leading up to and throughout the event. They will also work with public safety officials in the event of inclement weather, Hillary Lake, Wordsworth Communications senior account manager, told The Enquirer in an email.

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, which runs Taste of Cincinnati, says there is a plan in place if there is inclement weather, per Lake, and it is coordinating efforts with city officials and weather experts. It also noted the event hasn't been canceled due to weather in recent history.

The chamber advises attendees to monitor Taste of Cincinnati's Instagram and Facebook accounts for updates about the festival.

    Taste of Cincinnati weather forecast

Isolated strong or severe storms will be possible Saturday afternoon into the evening, per a hazardous weather outlook from the NWS. The primary threats will be damaging winds and large hail.

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms will also roll into the area Sunday through Sunday night, bringing a chance of damaging winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes and flash flooding due to heavy rain.

A cold front is expected to move through Greater Cincinnati on Monday, Memorial Day, bringing additional thunderstorms, cooler temperatures and gusty winds.

Highs this weekend will range from the high 70s to the low 80s.
