A popular Cincinnati area brewery is expanding to a second location inside a former bowling alley.

HighGrain Brewing Co., which opened its first taproom and restaurant in Silverton in 2019, will soon open a new location in the former Brentwood Bowl in Springfield Township. The brewery says it will move the majority of its brewing operations to the Springfield Township location, increasing its brewing space from 1,500 square feet to 25,000 square feet.

While brewing operations have moved, the Silverton HighGrain will still operate as a taproom and restaurant.

The Springfield Township location will also feature a restaurant that can seat around 300 people and includes a full bar, private event space and a larger kitchen. There’s also an outdoor space with a covered patio and beer garden.

In addition to food and beer, the new HighGrain location will also offer products from two other Cincinnati businesses: Revel Urban Winery and La Terza Artisan Coffee Roasterie. Customers can expect wines, an espresso bar and breakfast pastries.

HighGrain is the 10th largest brewery in the Greater Cincinnati area and is partly helmed by brewmaster Matt Utter, who brings with him 10 years of brewing experience in Germany. The Springfield Township location will open Friday, May 3 at 9167 Winton Road. The Silverton taproom is located at 6860 Plainfield Road.
