Allisonville Road to re-open at 146th Street. But don't get too excited yet.
Hamilton County commuters are close to getting the “all clear” on one of the area’s busiest streets. The Highway Department announced that Allisonville Road at 146th Street will be open to traffic June 9 after a three-plus month closure that required a lengthy detour. Left turns onto 146th Street will still be prohibited, however.
Pavement plans: Reconstruction of Ind. 32 through downtown Westfield set to begin
Construction has ramped up in downtown Westfield, as the Indiana Department of Transportation and the City of Westfield prepare for a major overhaul of Ind. 32. The project is a reconstruction of Ind. 32 from the roundabout at Poplar Street to east of East Street, to widen roughly a half mile of roadway to alleviate heavy traffic through downtown. Moving the building at the corner of Ind. 32 and Union Street — part of the historic preservation aspect of the project — takes place in June. Water and sewer utility relocation is scheduled to begin June 3 which is anticipated to include lane closures, create backups and require detours as necessary.
Nickel Plate District Amphitheater concert series set
Free summer concerts at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater in downtown Fishers kick off June 4 and run through July 30. According to an announcement from the City of Fishers and Fishers Parks, the concerts take place Tuesday evenings, with music generally starting around 7 p.m. at the downtown venue, 6 Municipal Dr.

Roundabout, bridge construction planned in Carmel this summer
The City of Carmel has released its schedule of road work planned for the summer. Upcoming projects include:. Construction of a new roundabout at Hazel Dell Parkway and E. 106th Street was set to begin on or after May 28. Traffic traveling north and south will be maintained throughout the duration of the project, with limited access to E. 106th Street during all phases of work. This roundabout is estimated to be complete in the fall.

Zionsville & Frankfort Claim Top Two Spots On Safewise ‘Safest Cities In Indiana’ List For 2024
The Town of Zionsville and City of Frankfort snagged the top two spots on the Safewise 10 Safest Cities in Indiana for 2024 due to the property crime rates and. The Town of Zionsville rose to first place and clocked in a population of 32,575 and a decreased violent crime rate that helped offset its rise in property crime rate. The calculated violent crime rate for the town was 0.1 in 2024 compared to 0.3 in 2023 and 0.5 in 2022, and the property crime rate is 3.7 for 2024 compared to 3.6 in 2023 and 3 in 2022.
