On Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, the Noblesville Lions served up pork chops, chicken, and hot dogs for the yearly Grillin’ on the Square during Race Weekend. This included pancakes and sausage on Saturday for breakfast. Helping the Lions were quite a few wives taking charge of desserts.

Hamilton Heights School Resource Officers (SRO) in cooperation with Hamilton Heights Youth Assistance Program (HHYAP) held the second annual Minicamp for students in grades 5 through 7 during the first part of this week. The camp provided the opportunity for students to connect with and learn more and interact with Heights SROs and HHYAP Advocate Mary Ann Haymaker. The three-day interactive camp included a mix of learning, fun, and fitness activities along with live demonstrations from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department’s bike team and K9 Unit and the Jackson Township Fire Department. The camp ended with a pizza party, certificates of completion, new friendships, and good memories.

MUNCIE, Ind. — An Anderson man was convicted on multiple counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in death in connection with the 2017 death of a 6-year-old. Nathaniel Leon Jordan, 32, had been charged with neglect of a dependent causing death when he punched his then-girlfriend Jessica Skeens as she was driving a van along the Muncie bypass in 2017, causing a rollover crash.

Alexandria police arrest 2 on drug charges
Jun. 7—ANDERSON — The Alexandria Police Department arrested two Madison County women this week on felony drug charges. Mekhi Sho Vonte McWilliams, 23, 2200 block of East 39th Street, Anderson, was arrested on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, dealing cocaine, three counts of dealing a controlled substance, unlawful carrying of a handgun, possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle while never licensed. His bond was set at $75,000.
