Suspect in 2023 Chippewa Falls break-in headed for trial

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WKBT) -- A suspect in a 2023 Chippewa Falls armed robbery is headed for a jury trial.

19-year-old Solomon Ward faces six charges, including armed robbery and substantial battery as party to a crime, for an alleged home robbery in January 2023.

Ward allegedly joined Jeremiah Maki and Elijah Johnson in breaking into a victim's apartment and stealing a Playstation 5. Johnson was accused of pistol-whipping a victim.

Ward pleaded not guilty to all counts last September. His trial is not set.

Maki's trial is set for September. Johnson was sentenced earlier this month to more than five years in prison after taking a plea deal.
