China Spring homeowners regroup after Friday’s severe weather

Waco, TX ( FOX 44 ) — Homeowners in China Spring are making some living adjustments as they regroup from Friday’s severe weather.

Fences are still down, roofs are getting patched up, and homeowners say repairs are going to be a high cost.

,”I think it’ll be around $30,000,” said homeowner Bobby Jones.

Jones has lived in the Falcon Point subdivision for one year and was in his house when the storm passed through.

“The wind started blowing real hard and we heard some things in the house. We went for cover and it didn’t last long. I mean, it was 30, 45 seconds and it lined up and we were out, and we quickly saw how much damage it did in such a short amount of time,” said Jones.

The storm damaged Jones’ fence, windows, floor, and destroyed his shed.

Jones is already taking steps to get everything back in order.

“I’m going to come out of pocket to get this stuff fixed fast and then get reimbursed by insurance on their valuation of the repairs,” said Jones.

China Spring State Farm Agent Nicole Omo encourages everyone to keep track of things that were damaged to your home and property.

“You don’t really think of everything you need to replace or repair right away, but as you think of it, you can continue to provide that to the claims representative speaker who can work through that with you and getting those things looked at,” said Omo.

Omo says each claim reimbursement varies on a case by case basis.
