In an effort to bridge the gap in oral healthcare accessibility, the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation (TDASF) is set to host a transformative dental clinic event on July 19-20 in Falls County. Located at 905 Durango Ave, Chilton, TX, 76632, within the premises of Chilton ISD, this two-day initiative aims to provide essential dental services including cleanings, fillings, and extractions at no cost.
The clinic, orchestrated by the renowned Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM), will kick off bright and early at 6 a.m., catering to individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis until capacity is reached. Walk-ups are encouraged, but to streamline the process and secure a spot, interested participants can opt for pre-screening sessions scheduled in Marlin on June 28 or Groesbeck on June 29.
For those seeking pre-screening opportunities, the Marlin event will take place at Falls Community Hospital (322 Coleman St #2358), while the Groesbeck event will take place at the Methodist Activity Center (212 W Navasota St) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on their respective dates.
Initiated in 1998 as Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles Foundation, the TDASF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been a beacon of hope for underserved communities across Texas according to the foundation’s website. Inspired by the inaugural Mission of Mercy event in Virginia, the TMOM made its Texas debut in 2001 in Tyler, marking the beginning of a profound journey towards enhancing oral health accessibility for Texans in need.
Driven by a noble cause, the TDASF endeavors to improve the oral health landscape in Texas, especially among vulnerable and underserved populations. Through charitable, educational, and scientific pursuits, the foundation strives to elevate public awareness, enhance the image of dentistry, and facilitate increased access to dental care.
The upcoming clinic stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of dedicated dental professionals, volunteers, and local communities. With the support of the Texas Dental Association and the unwavering commitment of volunteers, TMOM continues to traverse urban and rural landscapes, leaving smiles and renewed hope in its wake.
For further information regarding the clinic or to inquire about volunteer opportunities, interested individuals can visit the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation website or contact local organizers.
Don't miss this opportunity to transform lives and spread smiles. Mark your calendars for the Free Dental Clinic in Falls County — a beacon of compassion and care for all.
