Jade Gainer, former softball player at Chattanooga State, earned player of the year honors from the Mid South Conference for her play in the 2024 season. Chattanooga’s Kaili Phillips was named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. Phillips hit .429 last week in four games. She was 3-for-7 on the week with all three hits going yard. She drove in five runs, had 12 total bases and slugged 1.714 for the week.
