(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Police Department is asking the public for help in getting more information about a suspect accused of attacking another CTA passenger.

Police released photos of a man described as being between 40 and 50 years of age. The man was at the CTA Red Line stop at State and Lake around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The suspect is said to have approached another passenger and asked them for change. Police say that when the passenger declined to give him any money, the man allegedly kicked the passenger and then punched them in the face.

The suspect was wearing a black and gray sweatshirt, dark blue t-shirt, gray shorts, knee high gray socks, and black and white gym shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bureau of Detectives – Mass Transit at (312)-745-4706. Anonymous tips can be submitted at CPDTIP.com.

Police are reminding people to be aware of their surroundings, call 911 to report suspicious activity and to never pursue a fleeing assailant.
