    2 injured in early-morning shooting in Bridgeport

    CHICAGO — A shooting on the city’s South Side that left two people hospitalized early Monday morning has police searching for answers.

    Chicago police say it all unfolded just after 3 a.m. in the 3100 block of South May Street, in Bridgeport.

    Officers initially responded to a report of a person shot in the area, and when they arrived on the scene, they found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head and a 20-year-old woman who had been shot in her arm.

    The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the woman was transported in serious condition.

    Officers say a preliminary investigation indicates that both victims were shot by someone who was traveling in a vehicle.

    Video captured on the scene shows a silver vehicle crashed into a building in the area and a red vehicle with a back window that had been shot out. Authorities have not provided details on how the vehicles were involved.

    Currently, it is unclear what led up to the shooting and authorities say no arrests have been made.
