18-year-old and 17-year-old shot in face in apartment shooting on South Side: CPD

CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man and 17-year-old boy are in critical condition after being shot in the face inside an apartment in the city’s South Shore neighborhood.

Police said two offenders entered a residential apartment in the 7400 block of South Kingston around 11:24 p.m. Thursday, and began shooting at the victims.

According to police, the 18-year-old was shot in the jaw and right arm. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. The 17-year-old was shot in the right side of the head and cheek and transported to the same hospital in critical condition.

A rifle was recovered on the scene, police say. Circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown at this time.

No one is in custody. Area One Detectives are investigating.
