LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — The Buffalo Creek disaster, a devastating flood that killed 125 people and destroyed hundreds of homes, marked its 52nd anniversary Monday. A sludge dam on the Middle Fork of Buffalo Creek in Logan County gave way on Feb. 26, 1972, according to the official 1973 report about the disaster from the Governor's Ad Hoc Commission of Inquiry.

WILLIAMSON — Many four-legged friends came out for the annual Cause for Paws 5K Run and Mile Walk on Saturday. The yearly race again took place at the Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College Williamson campus. All the proceeds raised from the race benefited the Save our Strays which is a no-kill animal shelter. Route 10 in Logan set to reopen following rockslide
LOGAN, W.Va. (WCHS) — Transportation officials have made plans to reopen a Logan County roadway after a rockslide prompted crews to address hazards on a nearby cliffside. Route 10 in Logan is expected to open Wednesday after heavy equipment crews worked to remove rock and debris from the roadside, according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation.
