Last week after much public controversy, Mayor Charlie Hatfield resigned his position as mayor of Williamson. Is the city better off? Will there be a fresh start?. Hatfield needed to resign a long time ago, but because of who knows why, he held on to that position as the city continued its downward spiral while he and his cronies benefitted. The commission knew for years he was not a leader and they, too, are to blame for allowing that chicanery to continue.
