It's time for brutality in totality with MoonPie's SUN vs. MOON '24 snackdown!!

The Chattanooga-based company that makes the chocolaty, graham cracker and marshmallow treat is ready to help people get through the April 8 total solar eclipse with its new solar eclipse survival kit. And not to mention, bring the smackdown snackdown to the sun itself in the company's latest marketing campaign.

MoonPie went all in by bringing the epic bout of sun vs. moon right to us as the two celestial bodies take it to the ring à la some early-2000s inspired spandex wearing wrestling done by Knoxville-based ad agency Tombras.

"The solar eclipse of 2017 was massive for us, but we knew we had to go even bigger this time," said Tory Johnston, vice president of sales and marketing at Chattanooga Bakery Inc. "It's the day the moon wins, and the sun goes down! So we wanted to make something that got people as excited about the eclipse as we are."

The commercial brings all the nostalgia of the WWE ring in all of its curly mullet glory to the age old epic celestial showdown that you can get through with the help of the company's special solar eclipse survival pack.

What's in the MoonPie Solar Eclipse Survival kit?

Don't forget to get your "official snack of the solar eclipse" before April 8.

You can order a limited-edition MoonPie Solar Eclipse Survival kit ($9.99) with four chocolate mini MoonPies and two pairs of Eclipse Glasses on Shop.MoonPie.com . Glasses also sold separately for $1.99.

Where can I buy a MoonPie eclipse kit?

These limited-edition kits are available online, at all Dollar Tree locations, participating Walmart stores and select grocery stores, too, while supplies last.

What time is the April 2024 solar eclipse?

The shadow caused by the moon passing between earth and the sun will start its arc across the U.S. in Texas at 2:07 p.m. ET April 8, according to NASA. The path of totality will travel northeast, ending in Maine at 3:34 p.m.

Tennessee is just outside the path of totality, where the sun will be completely obscured by the moon, but will see around 85-95% of coverage starting around 1:49 p.m. ET.
