The city’s planning commission has been working on the draft for over a year, making changes to the former plan into what is being proposed today.

HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - A Hancock police officer has been named ‘Officer of the Year’ for Houghton and Keweenaw counties. Officer Darron Olson was recognized for this honor on Friday at the ‘Pigs-N-Heat’ hockey fundraiser in Calumet. Olson serves as the Hancock Public School system’s School Resource Officer (SRO), a role he began last March. His responsibilities include looking out for students’ safety and getting to know them.
