The Haunting Legend of Belden Ghost Town: A Spectral Prairie Relic
In the vast prairies of North Dakota, the ghost town of Belden stands as a haunting testament to the passage of time. Founded in 1904 by Finnish settlers, the town now lies abandoned, with whispers of its past carried on the windswept landscape. Named after W.L. Belden, a figure shrouded in mystery, or perhaps a postmaster's Indiana hometown, this once-thriving community peaked at a population of 100 during the 1920s. Today, its deserted streets and dilapidated buildings beckon to those drawn by tales of the supernatural and the allure of history.
