    Man who shot at Charlotte newspaper delivery vehicle gets suspended sentence: DA

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A man who fired shots at a newspaper delivery vehicle has been sentenced, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Tuesday.

    Corey Geter, 35, was accused of shooting into a newspaper delivery vehicle in 2020. Last week Geter pled guilty to one count of discharging a gun into an occupied vehicle.

    Judge Davis who presided over the case sentenced Geter to a suspended prison term of 64-89 months, but must serve 90 days in prison, the DA’s office stated.

    Geter was sentenced during the DA’s one-week Violent Crimes Team session. Among the convictions were seven defendants on gun offenses.
