    1 person injured in crash involving CMS bus in University City

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — An investigation is underway after a crash involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools bus occurred Monday morning in the University City area.

    The incident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Monday, May 6, near University City Blvd. and North Tryon Street in northeast Charlotte. Medic said one person was transported to an area medical center with minor injuries and CMS confirmed no students were injured.

    The bus involved was Bus No. 758 for University Meadows Elementary School and was occupied by one student at the time of the incident.

    It is unclear at this time if there are any charges and the cause of the accident has not yet been released. Queen City News has reached out to CMPD for more details.
