Takeoff is being blamed for his own death. Radar Online reports that Take’s mother, Titania Davenport, filed a $1 million lawsuit against the owners of the bowling alley in which he was killed, 810 Billiards and Bowling.

The owners of the venue have requested to be dismissed from the lawsuit. Midway Companies, LLC, another defendant in the suit, filed a lawsuit in retaliation. They placed the blame for the rapper’s death on “Decedent Kirsnick Khari Tiquon Ball [TakeOff] failing to exercise ordinary care for his own safety.” 810 caught wind of the lawsuit and have also moved to blame Ball for his own death.

“There is a reasonable probability that the occurrence in question as well as the damages complained of were proximately caused, in whole or in part, by unknown criminals who participated in unlawful gambling and/or the illegal possession of firearms,” the suit reads. “Defendant is not liable to Plaintiffs because Plaintiff’s own acts or omissions proximately caused or contributed to Plaintiff’s injuries.”

CHARLOTTE, NC – MAY 01: Rapper Takeoff of Migos performs at Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre on May 1, 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Davenport’s suit against the venue stated that the business was told Ball and other people, “many of whom could be celebrities,” would attend their establishment. Takeoff’s mother asserted that, regardless of the “unique and advance security considerations, [no additional measures]… were taken.”

She also claimed there were no after-hours controls or security measures in place. The suit alleged that 810 Billiards and Bowling failed to enforce rules or industry standards to prevent crimes. Titania Davenport doubled down and labeled her son an “innocent bystander” in the lawsuit.

Takeoff was shot and killed outside 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley in Houston in November 2022. Bullets began to fly after an argument broke out following a feverish dice game, striking Takeoff. The Migos rapper was buried two weeks later in Atlanta. His going-home celebration was heavily attended and featured family, fans, and friends.
