DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The Scott County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that a wolf was found dead along Interstate 80 earlier this week. According to Sheriff Tim Lane, the wolf weight was listed at 77 pounds. Studies are being performed to discover the origins of the wolf.

WALCOTT, Iowa (KCRG) - Officials have identified a dead animal they located along a busy stretch of interstate highway earlier this week. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources said that the animal found in the median on Interstate 80 in Scott County, near the highway’s interchange with Interstate 280, was a gray wolf, likely originating from populations in Wisconsin and Minnesota. The wolf appeared to be in “fair shape” physically, according to officials.

Camanche warehouse destroyed by fire
The Greystone Warehouse in Camanche, 311 37th Ave., was destroyed by fire just after midnight Friday. At 12:06 a.m. Feb. 23, the Camanche Fire Department was dispatched to the warehouse on fire, then full of plastic pallets. The department responded with two engine companies, one ambulance, one tender, one command vehicle and 14 personnel, according to a Friday release from Camanche Fire Departmemt.
