From Heart to Table: A New Downtown Deli Will Honor Old Family Traditions

A new culinary gem is poised to grace Downtown Charleston .

Daniela’s Downtown will soon open at 132 Spring St , taking over the space once occupied by 132 Spring Coffee & Kitchen Bar, which closed just last month.

A European-inspired market and deli, Daniela’s is the brainchild of Natasha Cline and her partners at Uncork Charleston , where she currently serves as executive chef. Cline began her culinary career at age 15, inheriting a love of cooking from her parents, who inspired this latest venture.

Daniela’s is named after her German-born mother, who passed away in 2017 after battling an autoimmune disease that affected her hands. Cline’s father, originally from South America, operated a deli in Washington, D.C. Cline treasures fond memories of working at the family-run business and cooking with her mother at home.

Daniela’s will offer a variety of takeaway items, including pre-cooked heat-at-home dishes and freshly prepared salads, pastas, and main courses available in eco-friendly to-go ware, bodega style.

Patrons are welcome to enjoy their meals on-site, either on the patio or in the limited indoor seating area. The market will feature local produce, fresh flowers, a selection of dried goods, and cold cases of grab-and-go items, with vegan and gluten-free options also available.

Daniela’s Downtown is slated to open in late summer or early fall of 2024. The establishment stands as a heartfelt tribute to Cline’s parents and their culinary legacy, blending European flavors with local Charleston charm.
