'He wants to chase after Brock': Perry's Kael Snyder ready to emerge as next big QB in Arizona
Brock Purdy Way no longer directs students into Gilbert Perry High School. That sign was only temporary, placed in February as a way to honor the former Pumas quarterback as he led the San Francisco 49ers into the Super Bowl. Kael Snyder didn't need a sign to direct his future when he was...

Picklemall bouncing out of Arizona Mills to Mesa
It seemed like a great idea when it opened a year ago. Take what might be America’s most popular sport for adults and cater to it in empty mall space. But the seemingly win-win idea bankrolled by a Texas billionaire and pickleball devotee has gone up in smoke after Picklemall announced it is pulling out of Arizona Mills by the end of this month.

The 59 Club has added a member. Its newest is 14-year-old AJ Ramos of Tucson, Arizona, who went sub-60 last week at a Junior Golf Association of Arizona event. Ramos shot his 59, which was a bogey-free, 11-under round, at Starfire Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Sam Schanafelt Summer Classic. He had three birdies and an eagle on his front nine, then six birdies – including five in a row – on the back before making par at the last.
ASU quarterback Sam Leavitt not blinded by the preseason buildup
By Ryan Myers, ASUDevils: The fact that Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt is ready for the bright lights this fall doesn’t mean that the presumed starting quarterback narrative sways him. True, a strong spring practice, especially in the latter half of the 15 sessions, merited the Michigan State transfer’s preseason storyline. Yet, the redshirt freshman is all too cognizant of the fact that he has to earn those first-team duties.
Arizona teen basketball player laces up for last time at NABI tournament
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — You only need to see Keon Talgo shoot the ball once to know he’s the guy opposing teams are terrified of seeing at the rim. “Silky smooth,” says Kurt Keener, Talgo’s former coach at Gilbert Christian. “When he’s in a game and he misses, you’re almost surprised. If he’s open and he’s got a good luck at the basket, it’s going down.”
VIDEO – Voices of the Valley – Mark Tucker
After almost four decades of working “in the world of fun and games,” I’ve encountered voices that I consider “must know” if you want to be connected to the Arizona sports community. Mark Tucker is one of those. Coach Tuck and I chopped it up on Wednesday. He’s a special dude.
UNC basketball offers Arizona forward in 2026 class
Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels’ basketball program have added another prospect to their 2026 recruiting board. Earlier this week, UNC offered a few recruits in the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes, establishing their board. And on Wednesday, the program extended an offer to small forward Miikka Muurinen. The Arizona native has a tie to North Carolina as his mother, Jenni Laaksonen, played at North Carolina in the early 2000’s. His father, Kimmo, had a successful pro basketball career overseas. So there is a lot of basketball in his blood as his recruitment starts to pick up after a big showing...
