Man Assaulted Early Monday Morning at Central Lincoln Home
LINCOLN–(KFOR May 13)–The investigation continues into an assault overnight at a central Lincoln home. Police Lt. Brian Agnew tells KFOR News officers were called around 2:30am Monday to the area of 38th and “O” Street about a burglary in progress. They soon found out a man living there was assaulted and taken to a hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

Inmate housed at Lincoln Reception and Treatment Center dies
LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says an inmate housed at its Lincoln facility has died. Estell Jennings, 44, died Saturday at the Reception and Treatment Center. He was serving 60 to 80 years for attempted first-degree sexual assault of a child out of Douglas County, and two counts each of first-degree sexual assault and incest out of Sarpy County. His sentence began in August 2014.
Lincoln Police investigating two separate counterfeit money cases
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department is investigating two separate counterfeit money incidents that occurred last week. On Thursday, officers responded to Casey’s on 40th and Adams streets around 9 a.m. after an employee found a fake $100 bill in their possession. Police said the bill had the words “For Motion Picture Copy Money” written on it and had been passed at the store the previous evening.

Nebraska man hospitalized after Nodaway Co. motorcycle accident
NODAWAY COUNTY —A Nebraska man was injured in an accident just after 1:30p.m. Sunday in Nodaway County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by John J. Donlan, 73, Waverly, Nebraska, was eastbound on MO 46 twelve miles west of Maryville. The driver lost control of the motorcycle as it traveled off the south side of the road. The motorcycle overturned and the driver was ejected.

Former Nebraska edge rusher transfers to Pittsburgh
A former Husker has announced his transfer portal destination. Chief Borders will play for the Pittsburgh Panthers next season. Borders spent only one season with the Huskers. He spent time with the Florida Gators before coming to Lincoln. In his lone season with the program, Borders recorded nine tackles, including half a tackle for loss and one pass breakup. Prior to arriving in Gainesville, the four-star recruit played in the 2021 Under Armour All-America Game. He initially chose Florida over Arkansas, Auburn, Michigan State and Stanford. During his freshman year, he appeared in four games before being redshirted for the remainder of the season. In 2022, he appeared in all 12 games and played a primary role on special teams.
