Coast Guard responds to Lake Michigan to rescue 2 people in boat with broken oars
ST. IGNACE, MI – A U.S. Coast Guard crew’s swift response allowed two people to be saved from disabled boat in Lake Michigan. Station St. Ignace responded to Epoufette Bay in northern Lake Michigan on Wednesday night after receiving a report of a 14-foot row boat in distress with two people onboard.

Mackinac Island welcomes maiden voyage of Secretary of State mobile office
MACKINAC ISLAND, MI – It can take a full day for Mackinac Island residents and seasonal workers to visit a Michigan Secretary of State office, but not this week. For the first time, the SOS served the island with a mobile office, issuing and renewing driver’s licenses and state IDs, renewing vehicle plates, and updating addresses for 120 people who otherwise would have had to take a ferry to either St. Ignace or Cheboygan.
