New details in Berrien High School lockdown caused by hoax call
NASHVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - A lockdown has ended at Berrien High School after the all clear was given following a search, according to Nashville City manager Hayden Hancock. Berrien County Sheriff Ray Paulk said around lunchtime on Thursday his office received an anonymous call stating that there was a man with an AR-15 on the Berrien High School campus who had put out pipe bombs in student bags.
Turner Center ceramics program has limited spots available
VALDOSTA – The Turner Center for the Arts announces a limited number of spots are open for the Weekday Pottery Classes. Ceramics is one of the most popular programs at the Turner Center for the Arts, and classes frequently have a waiting list. However, a limited number of spots have recently become available in Weekday Pottery Classes for those who have always wanted to study the ancient art. Available class sessions include Mondays 10am-Noon or 6-8pm, Tuesdays 6-8pm, and Wednesdays 10am-Noon or 6-8pm. Students ages 16 and up enroll in one session, and attend the beginner-friendly class for four weeks consecutively.

Moultrie man convicted of illegally possessing firearm
VALDOSTA – A Moultrie resident previously convicted of armed robbery was found guilty by a federal jury this week of illegally possessing a firearm. Maurice A. Ridley, 47, was found guilty of one count of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The trial began on May 13 before U.S. District Judge W. Louis Sands at the federal courthouse in Valdosta. Ridley faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release and a maximum $250,000 fine.
