An Ingram man is facing a list of charges after police said he hit and injured another man with his car on purpose. The two men were friends.
Tire marks can still be seen in The Coal Mine’s parking lot where police said Stewart Walker, 49, ran over his friend.
Detectives with the Castle Shannon Police Department said Walker used his silver Scion to chase his friend down and hit him just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. There was visible damage to the box-shaped car’s front end and passenger side mirror.
According to the police report, the two friends were inside the car when they got into an argument. The victim told detectives Walker was talking about being clean for the last couple of weeks when he started “preaching religion to him.”
That’s when the pair got upset and Walker dropped his friend off at The Coal Mine.
Moments later, police said Walker is seen on surveillance video driving toward his friend, hitting the gas, and then crashing through two chains before running into a tree behind the bar.
The victim was left with a broken foot.
Channel 11 spoke with Walker’s neighbors in Ingram. They said Walker is a good neighbor and a good guy who they’ve never had issues with.
Walker is facing several charges, including aggravated assault and reckless driving.
Allegheny County Police are in charge of the investigation.
