DENVER ( KDVR ) — What are the chances of two lottery drawings in a row landing Coloradans millions? That math requires a bit of a high pay grade, but perhaps two new Colorado jackpot winners are up for the task.

The Colorado Lottery said someone purchased a winning ticket in Wray and hit the Colorado Lotto+ jackpot on April 24. The winning ticket, sold at a 7-Eleven, was worth $7,860,854 .

In the very next drawing, held on Saturday, April 27, someone else hit the Colorado Lotto+ jackpot after purchasing a $2 ticket at a Loaf ‘n Jug on Castleton Drive in Castle Rock. The winner in Castle Rock won a whopping $1,114,997, choosing to receive their winnings through a lump sum cash payment of $557,498.

The Colorado Lotto+ is an in-state jackpot game through the Colorado Lottery, which said the program has created over 425 millionaires in the state. To play, individuals choose six numbers and if three or more of those numbers match what was drawn, prizes are awarded.

After the winner in Wray won by matching all six numbers, lottery administrators were not anticipating another winner to match all six numbers on the next drawing.

The jackpot resets to $1,000,000. Drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
