Man with federal arrest warrant apprehended by Laramie County law enforcement on Wednesday
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A man who reportedly threatened to shoot law enforcement was arrested Wednesday in Cheyenne. At around 10:30 a.m., law enforcement with the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and Wyoming Fugitive Task Force served a federal arrest warrant to Michael Picard on the 600 block of East Jefferson Road, according to a Facebook post from the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office. Law enforcement surrounded the premises and arrested Picard.
Downtown Cheyenne 'buggin' out,' as swarms of seed bugs appear overnight
CHEYENNE — An infestation of tiny black bugs invaded downtown Cheyenne in a single night, with swarms of them clinging to the walls of office buildings, churches and homes. Best Pest Control exterminator Derek Fulfer said he received more than 30 calls on Friday, starting at about 7 a.m., and was booked throughout the day. The calls reported bug infestations inside commercial businesses, car dealerships and even an urgent care medical clinic.

Longtime Cheyenne resident Marguerite Herman running for Senate District 8
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Marguerite Herman, a Cheyenne resident of 44 years, has announced she is running for Senate District 8 in the Wyoming Legislature. If elected to serve Cheyenne in the state Senate, Herman promises to listen to and advocate for all of her district’s residents, according to a news release from her campaign.
City of Cheyenne approves $147.3M budget for fiscal year 2025; BOPU funded $59.6M
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Following weeks of budget work sessions, the city’s proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year has been approved. Cheyenne’s City Council finally passed its budget of $147,637,616 for fiscal year 2025 at Monday night’s meeting. The fiscal year begins July 1, with the budget covering funds for all city offices, departments and divisions.
