Mobile home residents prevail in lot rent ordinance votes
Voters in eight towns overwhelmingly approved ordinances on Tuesday, Nov. 3, restricting how much mobile home park owners can raise lot rents. The decisions in Augusta, Eliot, Farmington, Jay, Oakland, Standish, Wells and Wiscasset bring the total number of municipalities in Maine with lot rent restrictions to 16. Another city, Lewiston, will decide later this month whether to adopt an ordinance by city council vote.
