Update: City of Cannon Beach boil water advisory lifted

The City of Cannon Beach has removed the Boil Water Advisory status effective immediately. Water is safe to drink, and you can resume your normal activities. Previous Information March 27th:The City of Cannon Beach remains on a Boil Water Advisory as a result of the water line break yesterday.This will remain in effect until tomorrow, Thursday March 28th when we expect our water test results back from the Portland lab. Further updates will continue to be posted here and our city website. Another NIXLE alert will be issued when the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.Thank you for your patience during this safety precaution phase.

Previous Information March 26th:

The City of Cannon Beach has experienced a Water Main Break/Pressure Loss in our community water system which causes us to issue a boil water advisory.

Due to a water main break/pressure loss, the City of Cannon Beach advises customers to boil their drinking water. This advisory is for the entire community of Cannon Beach.

Customers should:

-- Fill a pot with water.

-- Heat the water until bubbles come quickly from the bottom of the pot to the top. o Keep heating the water for one more minute.

-- Turn off the heat source and let the water cool.

-- Pour water into a clean, sanitized container with a cover for storage.

Customers should use boiled water that has cooled or bottled water for:

-- Drinking

-- Brushing teeth

-- Washing fruits and vegetables

-- Preparing food and baby formula

-- Making ice o Giving to pets

The City of Cannon Beach is working quickly to fix the problem. We estimate the boil water advisory will end by TBD. We will provide the next update on or before 11:00pm this evening, Tuesday, March 26, 2024. This boil water advisory is a precaution. To limit risk, customers should follow the instructions contained in this release.

This boil water advisory is in effect until further notice, and the City of Cannon Beach can determine the situation is fully corrected. Customers will be notified immediately when the advisory is lifted.
