CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – A Warren man was arrested Tuesday evening after police said that they found marijuana and a pistol loaded with 22 rounds of ammunition.

Police noticed shortly before 5 p.m. that Derrick Eggleston, 37, was driving in Canfield with an extremely dark window tint. Officers then pulled over the vehicle.

When police talked to Eggleston, reports said that they noticed what appeared to be a burnt blunt and nuggets of marijuana in the vehicle.

Reports said that Eggleston was nervous, shaking and agitated when police searched his vehicle. Police said that Eggleston’s license was covered in marijuana shake.

Reports said that Eggleston asked police, “Are you sure you want to do this?” He also said police should “write… the citation, do me a solid, and let me go” before admitting that he had a firearm that he should not possess, the police report noted.

In the car, reports said that police located two nuggets of marijuana, a joint and a pistol.

Police noticed that Eggleston had felony gun and drug convictions on his record, making the firearm possession illegal.

Eggleston was arrested and charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, having weapons while under disability and a window tint violation.

He is due in Canfield Court for his arraignment on Friday at 9 a.m.
