FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ( KNWA/KFTA ) — A Camden man was sentenced on May 9 to more than 16 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

According to a press release, Ronald Antonio Moorehead, 43, pleaded guilty on November 3 to one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, in March 2023, police learned that Moorehead was transporting meth into Northwest Arkansas for distribution.

The release says on May 13, detectives surveilled Moorehead inside a vehicle parked in a neighborhood in Fayetteville.

Police then approached Moorehead and searched his vehicle. Moorehead was on active parole supervision at the time, according to the release.

The release says the search yielded around 500 gross grams of meth and a distribution amount of cocaine.

The release says Moorehead had a lengthy criminal history, which included multiple prior convictions related to drug trafficking.
