Oh my gosh, that’s me ! ! !
‘Oh my gosh, that’s me! Wow, I am shocked,’ exclaimed Lori Maddox after she was chosen as the winner of the first annual Weiser Elks Lodge Chili Cook-Off. She was chosen among nine contestants by three judges that included U.S. Navy Veteran Ken Edwards, Weiser Classic Candy owner Patrick Nauman, and Weiser Signal American editor Phil Janquart. Her name will be etched onto the big, white chili pot, which will be a revolving trophy to be displayed at the Elks Lodge. Above, Nauman presents Maddox with the trophy. Maddox said she used plenty of hamburger, green chilis, black beans, sautéed onions, salsa, jalapeno, and more beans. The result was a thick, flavorful chili that pleased the palate. Don’t forget that Friday night, April 26, is Neil Diamond Tribute Night at the Elks Lodge. Start time is 5:15 p.m. Photo by Philip A. Janquart.
Actions speak louder than words
Let me ask a question, WHY would a chairman of a political precinct committee cancel the last two meetings before a primary election in a big election year?. I have asked this question over and over by email and text but have yet to receive an answer. Many things have transpired without the knowledge or approval of the precinct committeemen. There are flyers, social media posts and newspaper ads being placed that have not gone through our media committee for approval to be released. There are decisions being made without a vote from the precinct committeemen.

Extremely sad concerning our political state
“The good sense of the people will always be found to be the best army; they may be led astray for a moment, but will soon correct themselves,” Thomas Jefferson (TJ) After studying my Republican primary sample ballot, I was extremely sad concerning our political ship of state. It is so discouraging to think our fellow state citizen legislators would sell “We The People” (WTP) out of business, that is to say usurping our constitutional power to regulate the Congress per the congressional term limit sections 2 and 3 in article I.
