The Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota returns to Missouri and Illinois for a three-day weekend to cap off May and kick-start June. Spanning Thursday through Saturday, the Series will visit Doe Run Raceway (Doe Run, MO) on May 30, Coles County Speedway (Mattoon, IL) on May 31 and Wayne County Speedway (Wayne City, IL) on June 1.

Jahmeshia Patterson, Festus Track Speedster is Athlete of the Week
(FESTUS) Jahmeshia Patterson a freshman on the Festus girls track and field team is this week’s Regional Radio/Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. At the recent JCAA Conference Track Meet, Patterson was named the conference MVP after scoring 36 points. She won the 100m dash, and her time was good enough to break a 30-plus-year-old conference record in the event. Patterson also took first in the 200m dash and finished second in both the 100m hurdles and long jump.
Dexter golf wins district title
FARMINGTON — The Dexter Bearcats golf team dominated the Class 3 District 1 tournament at Crown Point Golf Club on Thursday. The Bearcats’ defeated 13 teams and set a new school record (305) to become district champions. Potosi shot 326 to take second, while St. James took third with a score of 344.

The MAAA Tournament Baseball Semifinals were played yesterday at Yanks’ Field in Ste. Genevieve. The first matchup saw the one seed Valle Catholic Warriors take on the four seed Central Rebels. Both teams traded zeroes early on, but it was Valle Catholic who would strike first in the middle innings.
