Veterans Honor Walk Named for Marine Staff Sergeant
Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The new Veterans Honor Walk at Engler Park in Farmington has been named for a Marine Staff Sergeant and Farmington High School graduate. Marine Staff Sergeant Trevor Spink was a Farmington High School graduate and member of the US Marine Corps. On July 10, 2004, Spink died due to a non-combat related vehicle accident in Al Anbar Province Iraq. At the official naming ceremony held Thursday, Farmington Mayor Larry Forsythe made a brief speech honoring Spink and all other area veterans whose dedications now line the trail at Engler Park. He explains how the idea for the Honor Walk came about.
